Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Ragmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh
The Ibaadur Raghmaan Islamic Society greets you with the universal greeting of peace.
Ibaadur Raghmaan Islamic Society “Slaves of the Merciful” is a self-funded community organisation previously based in the Crawford area. It was established in 1994 by the late Imam Ebrahiem “Sep Davids” and was run by his son Imam Mogamat Isma-eel Davids, after his dad’s passing in 1998 who subsequently resigned in 2025 to pursue his academic career to acquire his masters.
Imam Davids introduced ML Abdullah Forbes as his successor, to assume the role as resident Imam as of 01 May 2025, as he felt that ML Forbes would bring a new dynamic to the masjid.
Before 1994 it was run as a madressa teaching children Quran and Fiqh in the Crawford area. This was run from the late Imam Sep’s house in Limerick Road.
Since then it has grown to encompass:
- Hadj classes
- Marriage classes
- Fiqh classes
